Relationship Advisory.
For couples and families who are building a business together.
The couples and families I work with aren't struggling because they lack skill or commitment. They're struggling because they're operating inside a system they've never quite been able to see clearly.
Roles blur. Decisions stall. Conversations that start about the business end somewhere harder. And the pressure doesn't stay in one place — it moves between the business, the relationship, and the family, because that's what pressure does when the same relationships are carrying both the business and the family.
When the system between you is under strain, everyone feels it — your team, your family, each other.
Private advisory is where we make that system visible. And once it's visible, it becomes workable.
Who this is for.
Relationship Advisory is for couples and families running a business together who know the dynamic between them needs to be as strong as the business they're building.
You don't need to be in crisis. Most of the people I work with are capable and committed — they've simply hit the limits of what they can navigate without an outside perspective.
This is for you if:
The line between business and the rest of life has become hard to manage
Decisions keep circling or getting delayed because conversations about them go sideways
You're pulling in different directions and it's starting to cost you
The tension between you is showing up everywhere
You want to lead as a genuinely coordinated team
You want someone who can see the whole picture — the business, the relationships, the family — and help you with the system
This is not therapy. It's not business coaching in the traditional sense. It's systems work — rigorous, relational, and built for people who take both their business and their family seriously.
What advisory is.
Advisory is an ongoing partnership. Not a coaching programme, or a series of sessions with homework between them.
We focus on the relationships and patterns between people, not on ‘fixing’ individuals. We begin with just two key people and expand the circle as necessary as we go along, reviewing each quarter.
We look at what’s actually happening in real time: the decisions circling without resolution, the topics that keeps producing friction, the places where your roles, values or communication aren’t quite aligned. It might be a business decision, a parenting approach, or the way you’re managing stress. Real moments, not hypotheticals.
You’re supported throughout, not only during scheduled meetings. If something important comes up, there’s a way to reach out.
Our cadence is flexible. Generally more high-touch in the early stages for most clients, and less intensive over time. We look at bringing others in as needed (the leadership team, your successors, younger kids) to deepen the results.
Foundations: where we start.
All advisory clients start with an initial 12-week engagement, Foundations. This is for two key people in the business, like a couple, or a founder and their successor.
Over this time you will learn to recognise and interrupt any unhelpful patterns of communication between the two of you. You’ll better understand your own behaviour and that of the other person. And you’ll learn more effective ways of interacting and begin to strengthen new, more helpful patterns.
Everything else rests on the base you build in Foundations: the decisions, the roles, the harder conversations. Plans don’t hold when people can’t listen to each other under pressure, so it comes first.
Our work together happens over scheduled video calls, and is supported by phone calls or written messaging in between. In-person work can be arranged, fees may apply.
Initial investment: From NZD $4,000 (excluding GST)
All fees are in NZD. GST applies to clients in New Zealand.
What changes.
When the patterns between you become visible and start to shift, the changes tend to be structural as much as relational:
Decisions get made — clearly, together, and without the loop
Roles sharpen, and each of you knows where your authority begins and ends
Conversations that used to stall or escalate become more direct and more productive
The business benefits from people who are genuinely coordinated, not just cooperative
The pressure stops moving between business and home quite so freely
Your kids feel the shift — children settle when the adults around them are more aware and less reactive
You understand yourself more clearly, and that changes how you lead your team, how you show up for your loved ones, and how you relate to others
You operate more like strategic partners in the business — and feel more like a team away from it
This kind of change is quieter than people expect. But it compounds and it lasts, because it comes from the root not the surface.
Common questions.
-
Advisory is designed as long-term support, not a quick fix. While most people start to see changes right away, lasting outcomes develop and strengthen over time.
-
This is high-touch advisory for people who want clarity, steadiness and healthier relationships in the parts of their life that influence everything else.
We work in the present, with the moments and decisions that matter most right now, taking into account how the past might influence your current situation. -
If you’re feeling stretched thin, carrying too much, or struggling to navigate the pressures that sit between business, partnership and family, this work is likely a good fit.
The initial call is a gentle way to explore that without committing to anything. -
We shape the engagement around what’s happening in your world and the amount of support you need to get the outcomes you are after.
-
If you are unsure if this is the right fit for you, feel free to book a conversation with me so we can talk through what you’re navigating and see whether the kind of advisory I offer is genuinely the right fit for you.

A lot of people come to me looking for help for themselves, and find that what’s really going on is between them and someone else: a partner, a parent, a business partner. My work is about those relationships, so I work with two key people together. Your own patterns are very much part of it, and we look at them in the context of the relationship, which is where they change how things go.
If you’re not sure whether it’s you or the relationship, book a conversation and we’ll talk it through. If what you need is one-on-one therapy, I’m not the right person, and I’ll tell you so.
